SPEAKER_01

Welcome to episode two of Attack of the Sports. Thanks for joining us on episode two. If you're joining us for the first time, I'm Eric. And I'm Bob. And we are Bearded and Crunchy. Thanks for joining with us for episode two. Episode one went well. For all the people that are listening to episode two that listened to episode one. Thank you so very much. Means the world to us. So this week's episode, if you've seen the promos on social medias, we are talking sports.

SPEAKER_06

Talking sports.

SPEAKER_01

So there's obviously quite a bit going on. We've had obviously the NBA playoffs are underway. We had that NFO draft a couple weeks ago. So yeah, we're just going to talk about a little bit and uh and then we're gonna we're gonna end it with one of Bob's passions. And uh we're we're we're gonna talk WrestleMania. WrestleMania. For all you people that don't think it's a sport, you can go to hell. Uh because even though I don't watch it, uh it is a sport, and it's like everything else, it's sports entertainment. Uh I can assure you that a lot of the athletes and other sports would not be able to deal with the uh physical aspect of wrestling. But on that note, we'll uh we'll we'll let Bob hear. Um he always has a good opening uh way to lead us into our subject matter, so take it away, Bob.

SPEAKER_06

Oh, what do you want to talk first?

SPEAKER_01

Well, you had come up, you had said what was our favorite sport and what got us to that.

SPEAKER_06

Oh, yeah, that's right. I forgot. It's been a long week, man.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it's been a long week, and you know, life. It's been a whirlwind too, though. Yeah, life shit going on, man. We we've been establishing our social media accounts and really going full-fledged at this. And mind you, we are both fathers and and and full-time employees somewhere. Yeah, yeah, we have regular jobs and we also are old. So, um, yeah, I'll let you start it off, Bob. Uh what you know, obviously, you know, sports is sports, but what, you know, what what what what's your favorite sport and what what made that a deciding factor into your favorite sport?

SPEAKER_06

My favorite sport's actually baseball. I've been a baseball guy my whole life. Uh I played it for a while until I destroyed my knee doing stupid stuff.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that you did.

SPEAKER_06

Um, my dad played too. My dad was very, very talented in in the game.

SPEAKER_01

And many sports, yeah, for those who don't know.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, football, baseball, firestone class of 73. But he actually got scouted when he was in high school, had a chance to go to either Kent or Akron, and then tore his knee at playing football.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah, yeah. I don't do it.

SPEAKER_06

And that kind of ended his thing, but he always loved the game and he passed it down to me. I remember being Oh, about five years old, we went to old Cleveland Municipal Stadium. That's uh that's a legend in and of itself. Yep. We saw my first, I was five years old, like I said, my first ever baseball game in front of about, you know, five hundred people. Uh, because they were bad in the eighties. Yeah, they were. And my dad's a huge Red Sox fan, so it was the then Cleveland Indians versus the Boston Red Sox. And I don't remember who won, I was small, but I do remember getting the little mini helmet with the ice cream.

SPEAKER_01

The Sunday.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, and it was delicious. Yeah. But I still remember how big of a massive shithole Cleveland Municipal Stadium was.

SPEAKER_01

Well, that was, I mean, we were approaching the end of it. So thank God. And it was, yeah, that was. I mean, I'd only went there once and I never I uh as far as baseball, I love baseball now, but I wasn't an uh an adult until I really like I followed it, you know. I I was an Indians fan, and and uh, you know, I knew, you know, we grew up in there, we had our Ken Griffey Jr. and Orions and and and all that kind of stuff. So I you know, I I loved sports, so I knew of baseball, but it wasn't until I got older that I really started following it. Um but for me, uh it's football. I mean, every everybody anybody knows me. I played football at uh East and uh I loved it. Uh met a lot of friends that way. And um, but ironically, uh, you know, a lot of friends and family that know me know I didn't have the greatest relationship with my father. But football was one thing that we we watched religiously, so I I got my love for football for him and uh my love for, and here come the comments and texts and phone calls, but my love for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Uh but yeah, I'm a football guy. I played it. Uh my my goal, I actually got recruited to a few. Akron U was one of them. Uh I actually had a couple bowling green. Uh actually, Virginia Tech even wrote me a uh uh uh it wasn't like a uh like a recruitment letter, but it was like a visit letter. Oh wow. But Ohio, yeah, Ohio Northern, uh which was a division three school. I don't even think it exists anymore because this was late 90s. Um their linebacker coach, uh, which was weird because I only played linebacker my freshman uh year, and then I moved to defensive inner defensive tackle. But their linebacker coach was impressed with me for some reason in Maine did he want me to go there, but back then division three's didn't they couldn't offer scholar uh athletic scholarships. Yeah, well what so we all know that all sports, but especially college sports, are crooked. Uh he said, I can get you an academic scholarship for a semester, but if you keep the grades and all of that, then we can we can continue that. So that was kind of the way, but uh unfortunately at the time uh life happened and I didn't end up going to college. But football's it for me. Um yeah, that's that's my sport. I still love it. Um I love college more than pros, to be honest, and even the older I get, the more um I feel that way. But now with uh NILs and all that, though, it's it's it's different. But that could be that could be another fucking conversation.

SPEAKER_06

Going the whole way of the pros, they're making money. I mean, granted, I mean should be.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I mean, these colleges are making a lot of fucking money off these kids. So but it goes to what about the you know, field hockey kids and what about the gymnasts, and you know, you it's gotta be fair, but regardless, uh let's I think today, uh for our sports episode, let's start with the NBA playoffs. These are our biggest disappointment of the day for me and him because we are both Cleveland Cavalier fans, and as you all know, they've been shit in the fucking bed.

SPEAKER_05

Boo.

SPEAKER_01

Um, so we'll start with that. We'll we'll we'll we'll get them out of the way um because I'm still disappointed. Um game it's uh round one should not have gone seven games. Uh I'm not taking away Toronto. It was an amazing team. They deserve to be in the playoffs, but I just felt like in every aspect of the game we had something that was better than them. Um not saying they wouldn't have won games, but to take it to seven, I was like, uh it was a struggle for sure. Oh, I I couldn't even I didn't even watch game seven.

SPEAKER_06

I just I mean I turned it on about three quarters of the way into the first quarter. I was busy doing something.

SPEAKER_01

If if I want to if I want to continuously be let down, I'll continue watching the Guardians. Yeah, I don't need that from the Cavs too. You know, but that's again another subject. Um excuse me. But of course, we're also down 0-2 to the fucking Detroit Pistons, where all of a sudden JB Bickerstaff leaves Cleveland and learns how to coach in fucking Detroit. Like that that that's irritating to me because that dude, he could not adjust for nothing. Nope. His rotations were shit. And this dude goes to Detroit and all of a sudden, like, he's coaching like he thinks he's fucking Phil Jackson. Right. What the fuck? It's frustrating. And and I know your thoughts on Atkinson. I like him. He's not perfect, and I and I know he's your your your biggest complaint about a lot of people. I like him. Don't get me. I know, but I know he's pissing you off.

SPEAKER_06

He is, he's doing the same shit that JB did where his rotations are shit.

SPEAKER_01

But I don't get that because he didn't do that in the regular season, and he didn't even do that in the playoffs last year. It was last year, it was really English.

SPEAKER_06

Well, and we got exposed on defense by Indiana by, you know, we can't guard the three-point line for dick.

SPEAKER_01

Well, that hasn't changed because we still can't do that this year, but might as well not even have five guys out on the floor.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah. We're like, never mind.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. But yeah, so yeah, I mean, they they've been a disappointment. They're underachievers. Um I, you know, people they can't take nothing away from Mitchell. Uh, I mean, that guy, he wants to win here. Um, yeah, he's a monster. I just don't know if everybody else does.

SPEAKER_06

I I mean Harden's doing Harden in the playoffs.

SPEAKER_01

He does what he does. Yeah, we knew what we're gonna get when we got him. I was just hoping everybody else can can can pull up with the with the the instinct and the and the hard nose, and he can just do what he does, but it just hasn't hasn't come to fruition the way we wanted it to.

SPEAKER_06

I have not watched a single game in the second round for the Cavaliers.

SPEAKER_01

Me neither.

SPEAKER_06

I just haven't I I caught highlights of the first one and was like, oh my god, what the hell is going on?

SPEAKER_01

They they look like a pickup team playing the playoff team.

SPEAKER_06

Now you know they play tonight because it's three o'clock. Well, okay, this afternoon it's Saturday the ninth when we're recording this. Yes. So you know they're at home, so they're gonna come out and look totally different.

SPEAKER_01

We're gonna win by 20 tonight. The problem is we're gonna lose the rest of them. Detroit plays better as a unit, and again, JB Pick JB Bickerstaff could not do that here. No, and somehow he's got them playing as a good unit. So uh I'm with you. I think they're gonna come out playing lights out tonight, they're they're you know, and they're gonna make everybody go, oh, you know, there, and I'm just unless they win this series, I'm not a believer. I mean, I'm sorry, it's my team, I'm allowed to feel that way. But they just they raise my blood pressure and they they make me want to put a fucking dagger in my chest.

SPEAKER_06

And my big question to you is is if they lose this series, do they fire Atkinson? When it's all said and done, do they let him go and move on? Or do they keep him and let him continue?

SPEAKER_01

I I'm gonna say continue because who else is out there?

SPEAKER_06

I I agree.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, you're you're not gonna get anybody that's been in the system a couple years, you know, like I I I think you gotta keep him for one more year. Yeah, um, I I would like to have Harden for the whole year, see how that plays out.

SPEAKER_06

Actually have practices together.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and really start to really gel. Um, but I mean we'll we'll see. Um when you said that I almost butted in and said uh you mean if and not if, but when they lose the series. Yeah, when is more likely. I don't want to sound like a Debbie Downer, but guys, I you're not putting a good product out there. No, like I I'm going on you know, the eye test, the visuals, and I'm I'm not seeing it. Yeah, so but let's move on to some more NBA playoffs. Um, you know, we were supposed to things got delayed a week, like we said last week because audio issues, but we're back. But Minnesota beating fucking Denver in the first round.

SPEAKER_05

Shocking.

SPEAKER_01

Without like towards the end without Anthony Edwards and um shocking. I mean, dude, Jokic? I mean, I that was to me, me personally, that and one other thing that we'll get to uh were the surprises for me. Um, granted, Minnesota's now going up against a more well oiled machine with San Antonio. I mean, they did get a win. They did, but I might be the only one they get. Yeah, I just without if they had Anthony Edwards, I think it'd be a pretty even is he out for the whole series?

SPEAKER_06

Or is he?

SPEAKER_01

I the last that I remember. Now I'm not gonna I didn't look that specific thing up, but I think so. I think they said if he can come back, they'd have to make it to like the conference or finals, but we'll see. He's he's a game changer.

SPEAKER_06

He's definitely a superstar. He's good ball player.

SPEAKER_01

He's John Morant, but without all the extra bullshit, yeah. Um, so here fun fact, I want to bring this up. I kind of ran this by you beforehand, but apparently the first round had the highest viewership in 33 years. And if you think about that, that's the 93 Bulls. Oh, that means the 94, 95, 97, 98, it outviewed all those, right? Which is crazy. Um, but yeah. Um, and then um, yeah, I mean, the Knicks are doing what the Knicks do. I I honestly think them and Detroit are the best two teams in the East.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, I think it's gonna be I think it's gonna be Eastern Conference.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, really, I mean Boston was considered a front runner and the Knicks made them look like chumps.

SPEAKER_06

I mean the 76ers beat him. Or I mean I meant 76ers. Was it seven? Seven games?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I was I meant the 76ers. I'm sorry, man. I was shocked when I saw that. Yeah, because Embiid got hurt in that one. That was another topic I put on. There's been big injuries, yeah. Like big name players were like hurt. Yeah. Um, so yeah, that's why I'm sorry. The 76ers, because I mean, let's be honest, the 76ers weren't gonna make it far.

SPEAKER_06

I didn't give them a snowball's chance in hell, honestly.

SPEAKER_01

No, and the fact that you know that they took them to Boston to seven and beat them and beat them. That that was fucking insane. But I I think um uh they're not gonna make it out of this round.

SPEAKER_06

Probably not. So who do you got? Who do you got finals? Um NBA finals.

SPEAKER_01

If I'm going right now, I'm going OKC in the West. Yeah, I don't see how they can't represent.

SPEAKER_06

Nobody's beaten them.

SPEAKER_01

Um I I honestly would have said the Lakers before this series because fucking LeBron in series one. Like, you know, I've seen somebody talking about where LeBron doesn't get his just due. Michael Jordan is the greatest player to ever play the game. LeBron James has the greatest career ever. There's a difference. Yeah, and I think people need to recognize that. Um, but uh I I agree. I think it's I think it honestly, I mean, right now I'd say OKC and the Knicks. Uh that that that's my prediction.

SPEAKER_06

Um I would go with that. I I because I don't think Detroit's gonna get past New York if they no when they get past Cleveland.

SPEAKER_01

Well, and that's what I was I was kind of thinking to the future, and I was thinking, I think we evened up with OKC in the regular season. So and that would be wild though, wouldn't it? Yeah, because that's where Harden started, right?

SPEAKER_06

OKC.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so that would that would be weird, but I we're that's fucking a hell of a wishful thinking, right? Um, but yeah, and then uh yeah, LeBron, man, just you know, I I understand why people don't like him and all that, and you know, us being from Akron, you know, we told people when he left, it wasn't that he left. I mean, it's a business, it was how he left. Like, it was how he left, yes. That was the issue that we had. It was like, dude, you basically like spit in our faces, and like, you know, I I knew people that like knew family members of his, and all signs pointed to him staying, you know. I I could never verify if he actually said that, but from the way it was told, yeah, you know, so but I was actually glad he did because I think he needed that to be able to learn 2016 would have never happened, right? And just wouldn't have. He was a different player after he went to Miami.

SPEAKER_06

He developed it's it's exactly what I've told you in the conversations we've had about the current Cavaliers. He went and developed what he didn't have, and that was that killer instinct at the end of games and going into the playoffs. That guy is a fucking maniac.

SPEAKER_01

He from Dwayne Wade, like you said, he learned that killer instinct and he learned how to win. He did. Like, and he and that's when he also learned because if you watch back, and a lot of you guys will get flashbacks in the uh when um uh I can't, I'm I'm all the names are missing me. It was right before he left, and they had that that buffoonery squad of of just the ancient chef random players. Um he didn't learn how to play as a teammate. No. So uh, you know, I think going to Miami allowed him to learn how to allow other players to to to to take over and and he just learned how to so that helped. Um it did. But you know, as a like the guy is in his 40s and playing better than most of the NBA. Most of the NBA and better than most of our greatest players ever did in their pro in their later years. Yep. I mean, Charles Barclay was worthless in the end of his career. Like my favorite player of all time is Shaquille O'Neal. Love the guy.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, Shaq Dieselbeat.

SPEAKER_01

He was worthless when he couldn't dominate the paint.

SPEAKER_06

Well, it's because he was just, you know, father time remains undefeated.

SPEAKER_01

And it will continue to look at Tom Brady. Um but uh yeah, and one last thing I'll touch on before we move into the we'll go to the NFL draft.

SPEAKER_06

Even though it was a few weeks ago, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

But you know, again, we had all this chewed up and we had topics and things happen, but you know, here we are. Um I seen that in uh it's not NBA playoffs, but it is basketball. I seen it in uh NCAA in both women's and men's is expanding to 76 teams. Why? Uh money. I mean it's gotta be. I mean, I didn't read the whole article because I just seen that and groaned. Right.

SPEAKER_06

I'm like probably the same reaction I just had.

SPEAKER_01

It's the same with this college football playoff. Like, I was all for it, but once they go to 16 and 24, it's like, dude, the season is so long. Like, I think they should keep it at 12 there. And the was it 64 teams in the NCAA's perfect.

SPEAKER_06

Well, it's like what I said, because we touched on it a little bit before we started here. It that's what the NIT is for. There's no reason to add more.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Try again next year.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

That's all there is to it. You know, um, but I don't think it's, you know, it's obviously not the players or the or the or the schools. It's it's the NCAA being greedy like they always do. Oh yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Well, it's all money, money makes the world go round. Yep, sure it does.

SPEAKER_01

But uh, all right, so now let's uh let's get into the NFL draft. Uh, as I alluded to earlier, um, I am a lifelong Steelers fan. Um, for all my family and and friends that are from and live in Ohio. Uh cringe when I say that. I am a Steelers fan, but ironically, uh my co-host over here is also not a local fan when it comes to the NFL. I'm not a Browns fan.

SPEAKER_06

No, I'm I'm a Green Bay Packers fan, baby. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Go cheese heads. Um, yeah, so let's uh we'll touch on a couple of things. We'll we'll we'll get to what we both think of our teams and each other's teams threads, and we'll talk about a couple other things. Um, you know, winners and losers. Um, I must say, uh, going back over, and I went back over this draft a couple of times. Uh and and you know, I'd be lying if I didn't say I looked at different websites to see their opinions, you know, just see if there's stuff I didn't miss. And I mean, the the Browns.

SPEAKER_03

The Browns.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, like we said with the conversation. So we had this conversation about an hour ago when we first were setting up at Get in here, talking with his dad, and I said, I said, they had one of the best drafts uh ever, and they're still gonna find a way to screw it up. How are they gonna screw it?

SPEAKER_06

It's like a hand grenade. Oh, yeah. You just pull the pinwalk away and hope that it you know.

SPEAKER_01

Hope that they hold it. But uh they they they had 10 picks, uh, they had some trades. They they got um they they did um they finally uh decided to work on offense. They've built that defense up enough. Uh they only went they went two tight ends and they took another quarterback, which I thought was kind of odd.

SPEAKER_05

Um that's gonna be a project.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but like they drafted him, like that guy wasn't. I mean, I don't even know if he was really gonna get drafted. Probably not. So if you know it was yeah, yeah, it was Taylor Green from Arkansas or Taylor Green. And not that he wasn't a a bad quarterback, it just didn't make sense for the Browns to take him. But you know, I I say this to the guys at work when we talk sports. I said if I knew what I was talking about, I'd be a fucking GM and not sitting here talking to you guys.

SPEAKER_06

I like their pick at at you know in the first round with Fano. I think he's gonna be a good one. He's you know big, strong, he's got a good skill set.

SPEAKER_01

Well, and they need line, they need look look, I've said this time and time again. If the Browns want to win, they need to keep Shador Sanders as their shoting quarterback, and they need to protect him because he's what you want in a possible running quarterback. He's a pass first run second quarterback. But if he's constantly running, you're gonna turn him into a running quarterback, and that's what you don't want because the kid can throw.

SPEAKER_06

He can. Um one of the most accurate passers in college football history.

SPEAKER_01

Um and so I I just that that pick was odd, and they do what they do, they drafted two tight ends. Uh, that was another one that I went, mm-hmm. But you know, again, they drafted offense, which is you know what they needed. Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Um, but yeah, I mean, they, you know, I mean, they they had a I don't know how I feel about Concepcion. Uh he has a history of drops, and they've already got that with Jerry Judy. They don't need any more. I like Boston.

SPEAKER_01

I think, yeah, the other the other wide receiver, I think, was a better pick. Yeah, Boston's a better. You know, we'll see. I mean, it's not like, you know, they had OBJ, you can say what you want. The guy was a hell of a wide receiver. Yeah, they had Josh Gordon. Um, I mean, if he could have stayed sober, yeah. Um, but yeah, so I mean, yeah, they you know, they they did a good job. They they they nailed it, and we will see how the rest of it goes. Um, now we're going to let's uh or no, so uh I want to talk about a couple where a couple of the um uh the Redskins, uh they actually had a good one. They took Sonny Styles, which I thought was the best defensive player on the Buckeyes outside of Caleb Downs. We'll talk about him in a minute, but uh yeah, uh the Redskins, they had a good one. Uh just briefly touch on that.

SPEAKER_06

Commanders, commanders, you don't want to offend anybody.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, I'm sorry. The commanders. Yeah, I can't believe I did it. I even wrote that down. I know the commanders, damn it.

SPEAKER_06

I still want to say Cleveland Indians, yeah. I don't want to say guardians.

SPEAKER_01

That's better than Washington football team.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, well, yeah, that was pretty terrible.

SPEAKER_01

But uh now we'll move into a team that we both dislike, and uh we're gonna put Bob in the doghouse. But I've seen conflicting on this. I didn't think they did too bad, but uh the Cowboys took who I thought was probably the best defensive player in the drafting, Caleb Downs.

SPEAKER_06

I'm not upset, but I mean my wife is a big Cowboys fan. My brother-in-law is a big Cowboys fan. Or at least was. They're all against you know the whole kneeling situation that happened, you know, five, six years ago, whatever. You know, my brother-in-law, anyways. That's but that's fine, it's his choice.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Um no, I don't I I don't have a problem with how they drafted. I mean they're still.

SPEAKER_01

Oh yeah, they're gonna fuck it up.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, they're gonna fuck it up.

SPEAKER_01

Uh I mean Dak Prescott is good, but I he's he just don't know which team. Dak Prescott. Yeah, you just don't know what Dak Prescott you're gonna get. Yeah, that's a good point.

SPEAKER_06

Mr. Interception?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Uh but yeah. Um and then going into the worst drafts, uh, you know, if you remember on draft night, uh I thought that the Rams drafting that quarterback was a good idea, but the more I started thinking about it, I was like, I get what they're trying to do, but why him?

SPEAKER_06

Um yeah, but if you think about it, it's almost like an Aaron Rodgers-Bret Favre situation in Green Bay years ago.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but that quarterback's not as good as those. No, no, no, no, no. And so that's why I was like confused. I'm like, and I and please, I'm not saying he couldn't be a good quarterback, but he seems to me as a reliable backup, or like in in in teams that like to run a two-quarterback system occasionally. I feel like he fits better than that.

SPEAKER_06

But um that's why I put the Rams at the bottom of my list as well as many, many, many people did.

SPEAKER_01

Uh the Vikings, I know that's your dad's team. They didn't do well.

SPEAKER_06

No.

SPEAKER_01

Uh, they didn't really address many of their needs. Uh the 49ers shit the bet again, but whatever. That's another team I'm not a fan of. I'm gonna piss a lot of. I got some friends that are.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah, yeah. But whatever.

SPEAKER_01

Um, so yeah, we'll get into um our teams now. Yeah, how did your team do, Eric? Uh I mean I saw ten picks. I went, yeah, uh yeah, they uh no they had seven, I think. Seven? I think I've got a lot of things. I think it was I think it was seven.

SPEAKER_06

Um I didn't follow too much.

SPEAKER_01

Uh it was uh six. I'm sorry, six. After day one. Um they I was up and down with it. I was I was really pissed after the first night, and then the second round I kind of got a little excited. Then the more I looked at it and I got mad again. But then when I really started going back over it last uh this past week when, you know, going back and researching, uh four of six were defensive picks, which I I I liked. Um I I do or no, I'm sorry, I apologize. Wrong. Uh they did mainly defense. Uh they got um another quarterback, which I I'm okay with. He's a hometown guy, he's a guy I heard uh Penn State.

SPEAKER_06

So I was happy about that. Is Rogers coming back? Do we know? Or so I wanted to talk about that.

SPEAKER_01

He finally did start showing up, but there's no still real hey, I'm playing, but I don't know. Uh I'm assuming he is. He's just doing his Aaron Rodgers thing, his retreat. Um which I don't think he's gonna do for this quarterback what Brett Favre did for him. I just Aaron Rodgers I don't I know I dealt with him for years at Christmas.

SPEAKER_06

I know, I know.

SPEAKER_01

I don't know. I'm not mad that he's here. I just wish he was a little more normal. He's just so weird about so much shit. Like, I can't you know, he's that weird uncle that like he always buys you cool gifts, but he just does and says really weird shit. Right. You know, it's like what the fuck, man?

SPEAKER_06

You know, I mean, I he holds a special place for me because of course he does. He won you a Super Bowl. He won me a superior. And then the next day, the funny fun fact, fun fact, that Super Bowl was against your Steelers February 6, 2011. And the only reason I remember it is because the very next day, February 7th, 2011, at 816 in the morning, came a little girl.

SPEAKER_01

That's right. Your daughter's gonna be a little bit more. I don't I don't like talking about that because that game pisses me off. But um, but yeah, uh, well, it's the same with us and Ben Rothesberger. He was a piece of shit. But I mean sometimes you have to separate the art from the artist. Yep. Um, and you know, he he was a hell of a football player. Um, he played longer than he should have, but um, I I'm alright with what they did. Did um they didn't have a lot of picks, uh, and they traded one of them, which whatever. Um, but I'm alright with it. We'll see. Um, now that this will be the first year without Mike Tomlin, I don't even know how that's gonna go.

SPEAKER_06

What do you think about the seventh round pick that they got, that running back out of Navy? I think he was a local boy too.

SPEAKER_01

Uh yes, he was. He was born in Pennsylvania, uh, and he's actually really, really good.

SPEAKER_04

But could he be the sleeper pick? Um for Pittsburgh.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, for us, I think he's gonna be. We always end up we drafted another tight end too. In every fucking draft for the last 15 years, we drafted tight end and a running back. Um, but yeah, yeah, I like that pick. That was one of the picks that made me go, all right, that wasn't too bad. Because honestly, like a lot of people didn't have him being drafted. But and I actually every year I try to watch the Army Navy game, and I remember seeing him, and I was like, yo, that shit's really good.

SPEAKER_06

I watched some of it, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And um, so I I I think he was a steal at seven. Yeah. So yeah. So that that that's a sleeper pick. I'll tell I'll take that. That's uh that was a like a Brock Purple observation. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Exactly. Or a fucking Tom Brady. Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Um the only thing with Tom Brady, you know, the the whole uh we're Ohio State guys. Oh, and he went to he went to Michigan.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that bitch up north. Sorry, all my Michigan fans. Yeah, yeah. We uh and I have a few of those too, right? So what uh what about your Packers, man? I got some notes too, but tell me tell me what uh what your thought was.

SPEAKER_06

They had six picks, they went four of six on defense. Well, their defense needed help. They did, they needed to revamp.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, their offense isn't bad. Jordan Love is yeah, I I like that kid. I think he's a good quarterback. Uh, I think I I think he's gonna if they can if they can get if the Packers can get a good running game, yeah, like a consistent running game, and really start to like start to fucking like get that defense going. I think I think you guys are forced to be right.

SPEAKER_06

I think so, and I think when Micah Parsons comes back, you know, from the ACL team, it'll be a lot better. I still gotta rank them, you know. I I I really think they're they're ranked near the bottom of the draft still.

SPEAKER_01

I wouldn't just okay. You know, it was it was mediocre. So I I'll say they couldn't get above a B because they only had six picks. I mean, I feel like you gotta have seven, eight, nine picks to really start getting up there because then you can really start filling holes.

SPEAKER_06

I don't even think they had a first round pick, did they?

SPEAKER_01

No, they didn't. Um because of the the Michael Carson, yeah. Um, but uh I I think out of the six picks though, they had the better draft out of teams with low picks. So I I would probably give them a C plus.

SPEAKER_06

Uh I think That's why I said kind of the middle of the pack, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Kind of near the you know, but yeah, so I mean, but again, they're in uh a division where the Vikings aren't gonna be shit. Uh the Cowboys are the Cowboys, and really the Bears are slowly kind of getting some shit together. I think they were a year early when they're gonna be. I think uh uh what's his name, their quarterback? Caleb um fucked. I can't think of his name. The dude from I'm pretty sure he played for no anyways. That quarterback that they got, I cannot think of his name. He is uh I think he's a good quarterback and I think he'll do well, but I think uh they need to help that guy get more protection. Uh he panics pretty easy. Uh so I I think if if if if once Micah comes back and that defense gets a little more stout, I think you guys can take that division.

SPEAKER_06

I think so. So the only question mark is Detroit, because which Detroit team will show up this year? I don't know, because they were they could have had a great year last year, it was kind of like of all teams that have never won.

SPEAKER_01

That's a team I want because when I was a kid, I was a Steelers fan, but I love players. And growing up, Barry Sanders. Oh my god, the greatest running back. You guys want to see some highlight fields? Go watch that. That dude rushed for 2,000 yards with a bottom five offensive line. Oh yeah. Those teams were always terrible. Never see that again. Um and it was a tragedy because he wanted traded because he he his goal was to win a win ring, and Detroit wouldn't trade him, so he retired. Yep.

SPEAKER_06

He said, fuck you, I'm out.

SPEAKER_01

But we again we could talk about that, you know, uh a long, long time. But um, I I would really like to see plus um and we'll talk about this next week. I'm a big MM fan, so yeah, I'd like for him to see his Detroit Lions get a get a Super Bowl win.

SPEAKER_06

But um grab Paul Shady now, though two times over.

SPEAKER_01

Did you know that? I did not know that. So my MM knowledge is vast. Um Haley, who just had his first, that's his biological daughter, but her mom was in um another relationship uh after they had split and they had um another child. He's actually got three. Uh and uh Elena actually just had a baby within like the last month or so. Oh wow. So he's he's a grandpa two times over. That's awesome for him. It's a different chapter in life. Well, and he, you know, he always made it a point to like keep their lives out of the limelight, but he did talk about them a lot, and I I love that about him. But again, we can talk about that next week. Uh foreshadowing. Um let's uh we'll move on.

SPEAKER_06

Oh, go to the MLB now and our our wonderful Cleveland Guardians, who are actually number one in the central right now.

SPEAKER_01

They are they are uh them last two games against the Royals helped. Yeah. Um as a matter of fact, I I was looking at this yesterday. It looks like a 90s leaderboard. You got the Yankees, Guards, and Athletics in the AO, and in the NAO it's the Braves, Cubs, and Dodgers.

SPEAKER_06

Oh those are the leaders. The the Dodgers don't surprise me considering they're you know buying.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, Tani has a.97 ERA.

SPEAKER_06

Insane.

SPEAKER_01

What the fuck? There's another MVP. That dude is a bro, he's a royal. I'm telling you he's not human. Yep, he's a freak. There's another MVP. Oh, it's I if you the only way he can is if he gets hurt. That's the only way I can see it happening. Um, but our guards are doing what the guards do. They're up and down. They fucking win five, they lose seven, they win twelve, they lose eight. But um, you know, J Ram, he hit the the the uh 300-300 club.

SPEAKER_06

He did. Good for him. I love Jose, man. Oh, he's amazing. He's my favorite hangout.

SPEAKER_01

Yep, he's he's moved into my favorite guardian of all time. I love the guy.

SPEAKER_06

I will say this after after looking up a little bit, and again, kind of looking back on things, Jose is notoriously a very slow starter for the year. Oh yeah, his batting now is shit. He's hitting 219.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, it's gone up. Okay. Yeah, it's gone up.

SPEAKER_06

He's hitting a little bit better.

SPEAKER_01

When when we did when I did research earlier in the week, he was at like 197.

SPEAKER_06

I mean, we're 219, six homers, 15 RBI. You know, again, he is notoriously a slow, slow starter.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but the dude is leading in steals. Oh, I know. He's tied for the league in the MLB.

SPEAKER_06

That's what he's a five-tool guy.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my god. That's what I'm saying. People think like, yes, his batting average is never, he's not gonna get you 380.

SPEAKER_06

No.

SPEAKER_01

Um, that's just not what he does. He's a long ball and a precision batter. And his defense, I think, never gets talked about. No, he's not a golden glove, but the dude can play.

SPEAKER_06

I agree, but the competition, like there's just some fucking fielders out there that yeah, you gotta remember he did come up, I believe, as a I think he came up as a second baseman.

SPEAKER_01

Yes.

SPEAKER_06

And then, you know, well, we had Kipnas at the time. So that hey, Jose, can you play third? Uh, sure, no problem.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, he don't care. He don't care.

SPEAKER_06

Uh that's why I love the guy because he just gives everything to everything.

SPEAKER_01

Whenever I when ever when he signed that, he just recently signed again, but right before that, he signed that big, big deal. Yeah. And everybody was telling him, like, I guess there was offers for like a hundred million more to other teams. He said no. And he was like, No. I love Cleveland. I love Cleveland, they love me, and I want to play here, and I want to win here. And that's and that when he did that, I was like, You're the greatest fucking Indian of sorry, guardian of all time. Chef's kiss on that though. Oh my god, I love the guy. He loves it here, and we love him here, and you know, he can do no wrong, you know.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah. So what do you I mean, what do you think about him so far? I mean, I have my thoughts, I have a bunch of stuff that's in my mind.

SPEAKER_01

So believe it or not, Gavin Williams uh leads AOL, uh AL in strikeouts.

SPEAKER_06

Was it like 60?

SPEAKER_01

He's at 60. Uh, I don't know if he got any. Um did he didn't pitch last night, did he? Uh because he might have more. I don't pitch last. Yeah, I don't need that. I didn't watch the game. I just looked at the bot score. Yeah. I didn't, but as of I think Thursday, uh yeah. Yeah. And he's tied for first in the AL with wins. He's got five wins.

SPEAKER_06

It doesn't, I I think we had this conversation last season when he was kind of iffy throughout the year.

SPEAKER_01

The potential was there, but he wasn't feeling it.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, I told you. I said once this guy really learns how to pitch and gets a year under his belt in the majors, watch out because his stuff is just filthy. He is nasty.

SPEAKER_01

Like that dude gives me hope. I'm like, okay.

SPEAKER_06

I mean, here's a here's a fun fact though for him right now. They are third in the MLB in ERA as a pitching staff. They're right around four.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

And I mean, that's I'm still iffy on the bullpen.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, it's shady as fuck. Shaky as fuck, man. It's but you know, again, I I I I say this all the time when we get talking MLB, me you, and then me and some guys at work. It always seems that when one's working, the other's not. It it's well, yeah. It's like a person's lazy eye.

SPEAKER_06

Well, all you gotta do is look at the opposite end of it, and you know, as a team, we're hitting 233 right now, which is 22nd in the major leagues. Yeah, and that's not and we're winning our division, yeah, because our pitching is is is keeping us in the spin lights out.

SPEAKER_01

And um, I I did want to get to one point though. I'm I'm I'm letting you take the reins on baseball because that's your expertise. But I did notice that um Judge is nailing homers, but his batting average is buns. Is it?

SPEAKER_06

What's it at?

SPEAKER_01

It was when I looked the other day, it was 167.

SPEAKER_06

Hmm. And I'm like, um well, that just goes to show you, though, that if you can bomb him out of the ballpark at a high rate, you can't.

SPEAKER_01

That reminds me of um steroid Yankee. Alex. He would he would have slumps like that where he'd crack eight home runs, but he'd be bat in 150. Yeah. Um, but yeah, I just thought that was interesting because you know, as as Indians Guardians fans, I loathed the Yankees. Oh, yeah, still do. Uh I hate them. I hate any players that play for them. Um, I'm actually skeptic of any players that come here from them. Um we had Giombi, I was like, uh uh, not a you know, I'm good.

SPEAKER_06

I um I could tell you who my shocker's been with Cleveland right now, and it wasn't for a little while because he was slumping. And my initial stuff that I had thought about, I was like, I'm not sold on this guy. But he is a rookie, so it's yet to be seen. But my thoughts on Chase Delauder right now. I like I like the guy.

SPEAKER_01

I like the guy. I mean, he's I don't know, man. I mean, I I think he's he's fresh, yeah, he's raw, he's a rookie, but there's something about that that that fight, that dog inning. Yeah, he he he reminds me of the type of energy that um Josh Naylor had.

SPEAKER_06

I would give you that.

SPEAKER_01

The energy, not not play style. Like he just he gets into it, and I just I really, really, really, really, really like the guy.

SPEAKER_06

I mean, we're hitting uh we're hitting 306 right now.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, we've definitely brought it up, brought that up because we were uh dogs. If we can if we can keep our bullpen in these games with with our batting, we can go far. But but like you mentioned earlier, our bullpen is just so fucking up in the air. Like it's yeah, some games these dudes are like fucking lights out. I mean yeah, fucking Cy Young award winners. And then there's other nights it's like, did you eat fucking pizza and cabbage and beer all night last night? Because you're playing like shit.

SPEAKER_06

You know, unfortunately for us with Klasse doing what he's done, fuck that game has totally upended the ass end of that bullpen. Is you know, you've gone for being a having a dominant closer, and and I have no problem with who they have as their closer.

SPEAKER_01

Absolutely not, but I I I want to touch on that because that pisses me off because I remember during those that heartbreaking 2000 uh or that last season when we were in the the World Series um and he pitched the way he did. I was like, what the fuck is going on with this guy? And then all this shit came out.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, you find out he's two pitches and you know, but I originally put it on the manager, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I'm like, don't pitch him. He he can pitch a hundred pitches, but it has to be in one inning. If you spread that guy amongst many innings, he turns to dust. Yep, and I couldn't understand it, but now thinking about it and seeing that, I'm like, eh, I think he might have fucking did that himself. But I'm not gonna talk about that because I literally want to fight that guy. That shit was I there's no listen, yeah. Do I think players should be allowed to gamble on sports? Not while they're in their sport. No, afterwards, spend all your money.

SPEAKER_05

Right.

SPEAKER_01

Um, I do think you should be allowed to gamble on other sports, but your own sport you should not be allowed. I just don't, you know, I I don't care if you know you say you're not betting on other, you know, uh teams or what whatever the situation is. It just adds that level of of you know shadiness to it.

SPEAKER_06

And it's like, ah, you know, I just that's frustrating because how much money did he give up for just a little bit of gambling that he was? I mean, he gave up his whole career. It's over.

SPEAKER_01

The average win in sports bettings is less than a grand. Yeah, he's done. Like, what are you? I mean, those big wins that you see, you guys, that doesn't happen a lot. I've gambled before. I'm lucky I'm not addicted to it. Right. I've done parlays, I've been on games, I've used DraftKings, I've used FanDuel, I've done it all. And you're you're gonna lose more than you're gonna win. And the type of player that he was, I mean, this dude was I mean, I he wasn't as good, but I mean he was on the trajectory to be like a Mariano Rivera. As much as I hate the Yankees, the dude was one of one of, if not B, greatest closers of all time. He yeah, I would I mean that dude never would let you hit off him.

SPEAKER_06

No, that cutter was just devastating. And that's what kept him in the game so long, but he knew when to give it up.

SPEAKER_01

He did, he did, he he got out at the right time. No, he walked away smart, but I I still believe he might have had another year or two in him. Probably. But if but people don't take the mental side of sports either. When you're done, you're done. Yeah, you know, and he was done, and he it was same with Barry Sanders, you know, like we talked about earlier. If he couldn't go to another team, he didn't want to keep suffering there. So he was like, fuck it, I'm done.

SPEAKER_06

I'm done, I quit.

SPEAKER_01

And I mean, hey, you know, I mean, I'll give you another perfect example of my Steelers with all of the shit talk of Mike Tomlin should go, and he's a shitty, you know, he's a good regular season, can't do shit in the he just walked away. He said, and I love what Mike Tomlin did. I know we're on another sport, but this just kind of fits the same um thought process. Um he resigned that way it would be easier, like they could make a trade for a coach and it make it easier. So, but you know, again, uh you know, classe was on that path to be one of the best closers. I mean, it was one of those where like in the in the regular season, when he would come in, I would turn the game off.

SPEAKER_06

Uh it got infuriating to watch him.

SPEAKER_01

No, well, no, what I mean is before that, I mean, I'm talking um because I knew he had the like when he was closing, I knew we would get the win. Well, just lights out, yeah. Yeah, I just turned it off. I'm like, there's no fucking sense in watching it.

SPEAKER_06

But when you're throwing, you know, when you've got a 103 mile an hour cutter and you're offsetting with that nasty snip.

SPEAKER_01

I have heard batter after batter year after year say that's one of the hardest fucking if you master that pitch, you are going to be a good pitcher.

SPEAKER_06

A cutter? Yeah. Cutters are nasty when they're, you know when they're done correctly. Yeah. But it's just a a different style, it's a different type of fastball.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_06

You know, it's it's just different hand position, and we could go on and on, but you know, it's it but it's nasty because it does have that movement, and he was like I said, he's throwing it 101, 102, 103. That's impossible to be. It's like impossible to hit, man. It's like a BB. You can't even see the fucking thing.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, you literally have to have Jedi fucking references to hit that shit. Yeah. I mean, but yeah, so um, yeah, I mean, I I'm looking forward to the guards. I mean, I'll be honest, baseball's a long season. I don't watch every game. It's definitely a marathon. I I do keep up with them. I I I keep uh luckily through the MLB app, you can actually sign up for text messages or notifications where you can personalize it. So I get it for score lead changes uh and stuff like that and final score. So I keep up with it. I know, and then I look at the stats once a week and standings and I and I keep up, but did you see what happened to the Tigers in the last couple days? Uh I don't think so.

SPEAKER_06

They've lost Tarek Skoble for the next six to eight weeks. He had to have elbow surgery.

SPEAKER_01

I did see that. I did see that. And he was He was pitching, but and he was like the main reason that they were doing any kind of good.

SPEAKER_06

They got a lot of injuries right now.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but that's that guy's a beast. Boy, I tell you what, for a sport that isn't, and and I'm not saying it's not hard, I'm saying it's not as physical as like, say, a hockey or a football, the injuries seem to last much longer in those sports. In that sport. Um, I I think a lot of it has to do with there's a lot more like twist and turn movements between batting and throwing and sliding, and and you have a lot more factors. So I've noticed that there's been a lot of elbow and shoulder injuries since the clock.

SPEAKER_06

A lot of that. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Well, they're they're they're definitely overexerting. Um, you know, they don't have the time. But you know, I'm not gonna lie. I I think it's better for the not their injuries, obviously, but the pitch clock is yeah, it's better for the pacing of the game because that's why you can't get young kids in it if they're not playing it. If young kids are playing baseball, they're gonna watch it. But the kids that aren't playing it, they don't have that attention span. There's not enough action right consistently in it that will keep them drawn in like a basketball or a football. Right. So it's a lot harder to watch when you're not playing it. That was my thing when I was a kid. That's why I didn't I didn't really um appreciate it until I was an adult. And I'm like, this is a chess game. It is like it's it's it's and and all sports to a degree are, but baseball out of the out of the big four is the biggest representative of that. And I I play chess, so I could, I mean, I can see the mind games that you have to play. Um, so yeah, and and and these injuries just seem to last much longer than you know these other sports, and then other sports are more physical.

SPEAKER_06

Well, I mean, especially for pitchers when you start talking elbows. I mean, he's lucky because it was a as they classified it a foreign body, so probably he had a bone chip or Tommy Johns. No, yeah, that's why he's only out six to eight weeks. If it was Tommy Johns, you're talking a year, yeah, but eighteen months.

SPEAKER_01

Six to eight weeks, bro. That's 40-50 games. Yeah. I mean, that's a lot of games.

SPEAKER_06

But I mean, if you think about it though, he's a starter, so he's only going every fifth day, anyways. So it's not too bad, but to lose him, I mean, that would be a good one. Yeah, but you're ace, yeah, yeah. He's an ace on any stat.

SPEAKER_01

That was like us losing Kluber and like, you know, shit like that in uh Nagy and back in the 90s. But yeah, I mean, it's it's it's in full swing. Uh it's definitely been a crazy year in baseball. Yeah, a lot of homers being smacked. And it's early. Well, and a lot of homers being smacked, I think, again, because of that pinch count, because I don't think these guys can really, you know, pitching is a lot like golf where you really got to get in a like a rhythm and a stance, and you gotta you gotta be ready to swing that uh club the same as you gotta do when you're pitching. So I think there's a lot more dingers, you know, dingers getting knocked out of the park. So um so Bob, our last subject. I know this is I know you're itching for this, my guy. And I I did my research. And if you guys want to follow us on all social media, it's bearded and crunchy everywhere. Facebook, uh, LinkedIn, LinkedIn, uh, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, uh, maybe I should make a LinkedIn. Um we're on all of that. I put a a promo video out. Um uh my first one, and and and I added some sound bites from wrestling. I know this is your wheelhouse, so I'm gonna I'm gonna let you take the reins and and and uh you like that, didn't you? That's a good one. Guys, that's that's why we that's why we make the big bucks. Oh, wait, wait a minute. We're not making it. I'm not getting paid. I'm spending we're doing this for free. In fact, we're gonna be negative. So so take it away, man.

SPEAKER_06

This is this is this is your baby, so yeah, WrestleMania here about three weeks ago, man. What a good time.

SPEAKER_01

Uh it was a good one from from the from the you know the highlights that I watched. I mean, obviously, me and you have talked at nauseum about wrestling. I uh my my last run at it, and I watched it for two decades, was the attitude error. Yeah, I walked away after that, and even though I've heard well, yeah, and you know, you know Vonnie. Oh big, big wrestling fan. Just like you.

SPEAKER_06

Hopefully I don't disappoint him. Nah, you won't.

SPEAKER_01

Um he uh uh he he's a big fan, you know, uh as well. And um uh I just you know, I just for whatever reason, but he uh along with you said that man recently, uh especially since Vince stepped down and other people are in control, that it's really gotten good again. So hopefully, man, just just as a from a friend standpoint, and you know, for you and for Vonnie, I get back into it. But um, I I I keep up on it just because I do have friends, like I know, you know, I know the outcomes and some of the the crazy things that happened, but again, I'll let you steer it. So let's talk about your your takeaways and my takeaways from WrestleMania 42. 42, that was my football number.

SPEAKER_06

And think about that, like how far? I remember watching that that stuff when I was young. I mean, obviously, I started in the golden era with you know, Hogan and Macho Man.

SPEAKER_01

Macho Man, um Roddy Rowdy Piper all gone to think about it. Uh Junkyard Dog, Hacksaw Jim Duggan. I mean, we could keep going. King Kong Bundy, uh, the Iron Sheik, Nikolai Volkoff. I could keep going. That's when I watched it. Yeah, there's your zone. Yes, Sunday morning cartoons and then two hours of wrestling. Thank you. Yeah. Uh and that's back when they were the WWF. And so the Wild Uh the World Wildlife Federation said, You're making too much money. Now we gotta say something, even though they were the WWF for decades before they had them change it.

SPEAKER_06

Well, before that, they were the WWWF when Senior ran it. And then when Junior took over, he shortly. That's right, that's right.

SPEAKER_01

That's uh yeah, that's a that's a that's a a fact that I forgot.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, you know, I so I had a good time watching Mania over two days, which I'm glad they did that a few years ago, because watching mania for like seven, eight hours on a Sunday. Oh, that's toxic. It was brutal taxing. Yeah, it was brutal.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, it's the same with like you know, uh wanting to go to like you know festivals for music. It's like I don't do festivities. I don't know if I could do that shit anymore.

SPEAKER_06

I don't do festivals. I I want my little seat, but that's for another show. Yep, so foreshadowing. I'm actually gonna start with how I felt, and it was kind of a shock to me, but Brock Lesnar retiring, man.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, he's had a lot of controversy. Yeah, um, he's getting older.

SPEAKER_04

He's 48.

SPEAKER_01

Uh, and I I have to bring this up um because I'm glad you did, and I didn't have that. I mean, I had that down, but I didn't have what I'm thinking of it. His daughter, wholly shit, looks like she can wrestle.

SPEAKER_05

She can.

SPEAKER_01

And that's the wrestling like you know. I mean, we've talked about this. I wrestled for a long time in middle school and high school. Like, I went to city finals in eighth grade, like um, and you know, a lot of the moves in that type of wrestling are still to this day based off of Greco-Roman and and freestyle wrestling. So, you know, I still understand what it takes to do that, but um uh man, I I she is a phenomenon that she better be in the WWE. Maybe if I mean I know she likes actual wrestling, but I think she could have when I was watching her uh throw that goddamn shot put, or um not shot put, the yeah, the shot put. I was like, she can throw that better than 95% of men in the world.

SPEAKER_06

And she's built just like him.

SPEAKER_01

Just like him.

SPEAKER_06

Crazy.

SPEAKER_01

Um, but yeah, I'll let you, yeah. I mean, that's I mean, he's getting older. I mean, look at him. Like when he grows that beard out, it's gray now. It's wonderful. I was I was glad he fits the bill.

SPEAKER_06

I was glad the last run before this one, when he actually kind of let people in, like showing his actual and he was a cowboy, he's a he's a farmer.

SPEAKER_00

Same with Stone Cold. Yeah, he's got his own farm.

SPEAKER_06

I mean, nothing but respect to that guy after watching his whole career. I mean, you know what he did at Minnesota, NCAA wrestling champ. Yeah, I believe twice. Yeah. And legit, and then goes to UFC after a couple years in WWE to to become a UFC champion. Dude's crazy.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, he likes to fight. That's obvious. That dude does not mind using his hands in combat. Right. Uh, but yeah, I thought that was crazy. But that's I mean, I'm sure they'll bring him back in the future for whatever. He'll go to the Hall of Fame and all of that kind of shit. I I I I don't see how he couldn't. Like, you love him or hate him. The guy is a, you know, like people always loved Hogan. The dude couldn't wrestle for shit. No, and they'll a terrible wrestler.

SPEAKER_06

Technician-wise, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

He was a couple moves and he was a hell of an actor. I mean, look at what happened with him and Hogan in that WrestleMania when he pretended that his fucking neck was hurt when he didn't even hit the fucking mat. Yeah, I did. I do my homework. I know my rap my wrestling.

SPEAKER_06

I know what yeah. That was my biggest shock of the night was for him to end up.

SPEAKER_01

Now, in today's age, you know, people can find out shit before it happens. Was that on anybody's radar? Nobody knew. So it was a good surprise. That's a good I love when that kind of shit happens in today's times.

SPEAKER_06

I I really think that even Paul Heyman didn't know because his reaction seemed very genuine uh with the tears and everything, and was like, what? What's what do you mean? But I can see it. I can definitely see it. You know, he he's like I said, he's like 48. You know, senior retired last year, AJ Styles retired earlier this year. And you know, it you they do beat the shit out of their bodies, and you get to the point where you just want to be done, and I I can understand that is even as much as they love it, because if they didn't, they wouldn't do it.

SPEAKER_01

Well, there would I mean the rock still comes back. I mean Stone Cold shows his face. I mean, it's hard for these dudes. I mean, look how long Undertaker he should have retired with his injuries and shit. Yeah, quite a few years before he actually did. But you know, it's the same with football players. I mean, look at Tom Brady, like that dude sacrificed his marriage to play football. Yeah, you know, like and I understand I played sports, you know, you you get that, especially in a I mean, it's a little different in wrestling, but you know, you you get this team aspect and this brotherhood, and it's like you don't want to walk away from that, you know.

SPEAKER_06

And like I said, it's a little different in wrestling because you know um it's more obviously individual, but you know, behind the scenes, obviously they're a team. Yeah, you know, it's all yeah, they all have each other's backs. You're it's like a dance, you don't want to hurt your dance partner because you're not gonna make any money. I know everybody's like, oh my god, it's fake. You know what?

SPEAKER_01

It's scripted. There's a difference. It's not fake, it's scripted. And there is a huge difference.

SPEAKER_06

Um All I have to do is say look at the match between Cody and Randy Orton. They beat the shit out of each other. Cody still has a black eye three weeks later. Got staples in his head.

SPEAKER_01

Look at Owen Hart.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, I know that wasn't from the the fighting, but it goes to show you that like fake that doesn't happen to fake. You know, when you're trying stunts like that, and I mean look at fucking mankind. When he let fucking Undertaker throw him through that that steel, off the hell himself.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, no, he got yeah, but that kind of freak.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, he love McFoley. All and all of his dude. Dude Love, Cactus Jack, all of them. Give me all of them. Yep, he was amazing. Oh, he was such a uh I would love to have a conversation with him. And he is a good person, yes, and that goes a long way with me.

SPEAKER_06

Father, husband, too.

SPEAKER_01

Again, I can separate the art from the artist, but if you're a good person, it helps.

SPEAKER_06

Yep. Um and my my other big shock for me on WrestleMania was actually Paige coming back. She hasn't been that. And you know, hers was kind of more devastating neck injury, yeah. You know, spinal fusions or something.

SPEAKER_01

Well, and and I seen it like, you know, and of course, medicine is so much better than it was, you know, obviously when we were kids, but um to come back. I mean, that was a pretty I mean it wasn't like she took forever. Right. I mean, she she came back pretty quick. I mean, I you know, like I said, you know, I didn't watch it or none of that, but I I do my research and she's I mean she was wrestling. She looked like she didn't miss a beat though.

SPEAKER_06

Well, she was wrestling recently in AEW. Oh, too.

SPEAKER_01

So kind of like a warm-up, like the minor leagues.

SPEAKER_06

Well, I mean, they're a separate company, but I would say it's more you know, I don't I don't follow them anymore. I did in the beginning when they launched, because Cody, Cody Rhodes was part of that founding of that company. And I like a lot of the dudes that are over there. But yeah, she was over there wrestling for uh a couple years, I think, and decided to come back home basically. Which was you know, it's nice to see her back.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

So and she's young, I think she's only like 33, and to have what happened happen to her is that sucks. And to lose a couple years of your career.

SPEAKER_01

But again, fake it is not.

SPEAKER_06

Right. Those guys are all I mean, I wouldn't want to go through what some of those guys have been through.

SPEAKER_01

I I learned uh I watched the first two seasons of Tough Enough, and I was like, that shit ain't for me.

SPEAKER_06

No.

SPEAKER_01

Uh they them guys they go through some shit. And back then, I mean those dudes were on the road 260, 280 days at a year.

SPEAKER_06

Oh, definitely. I couldn't imagine being separated from my family like that. And most of those guys didn't have family, really.

SPEAKER_01

Uh Rick Fleer had about eight families, but that's another Yeah, his daughter's kind of unfortunately followed it in that.

SPEAKER_06

She's been married and divorced three times.

SPEAKER_01

That's the apple don't fall far from the tree.

SPEAKER_06

As talented as she is, but Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Um I've seen Bianca's pregnant.

SPEAKER_06

Good for them. I I heard they've been trying for quite a while. I told my wife, I said, you know, she's been out a really long time. I was like, I bet. I'm betting that she is pregnant. And that would be good.

SPEAKER_01

That'd be good for them, because it's Yeah, when when when you have fertility issues, I always wish the best for those people. You know, because it always seems to be the people that would be great parents and and and want kids wholeheartedly. And then they have that, you know. So yeah, I mean there was I mean, fucking what, Reigns beat CM Punk.

SPEAKER_06

That was a hell of a match. That was a good match. Yeah. That was they beat the hell out of each other in that one.

SPEAKER_01

I I will say this, man. The women ain't no slouches anymore neither. No. I did watch some uh some um highlights from the Ripley Jade match.

SPEAKER_06

Oh yeah, mommy. Mommy is your new champion out of that. Yeah. I've always liked Rhea. There's just something about she's a superstar.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, she's got that charisma.

SPEAKER_06

She does. And Motionless and White does her entrance song, which is kind of cool. So But yeah, I've I've actually seen we me and the wife have been to a bunch of of live events in Cleveland. It's always so much fun to go to those.

SPEAKER_01

I I can imagine it's one of those like it's like baseball. It's like watching it on TV doesn't do it for justice. You gotta go.

SPEAKER_06

You gotta go live. It's so much fun. Yeah. The only bitch I say now is it's gotten so expensive with them.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but uh everything is, man. Concerts are through the roof now. I mean, like, you can't do shit like, you know, um me and uh, you know, Rihanna we've been to dozens of concerts together, and it's just it's it's expensive and it just yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_06

The last concert I went to was last year and I spent a hundred bucks for two tickets, which it's not bad in the grand scheme, but I think the last one I went to was when I went and seen the locks with my cousin.

SPEAKER_01

But yeah. So any other WrestleMania tidbits or facts or anything you want to touch on?

SPEAKER_06

I think we kind of covered what I wanted to cover. I mean Cody Cody defeated Randy to retain Universal or Undisputed Heavyweight, whatever, they change it all the time.

SPEAKER_01

Uh and we uh Liv Morgan is the women's champ.

SPEAKER_06

She yeah, she beat uh Stephanie Vacur, which I was shocked, but I heard through the grapevine that she may be dealing with actual legit injury and needed time off. But Liv's a safe choice. I mean, she's I don't know. As being a heel, it's kind of annoying. She's just annoying. But she can go, so it's not so bad as a champion. Somebody will, you know, turn her. Yeah, it won't take long, I don't think. But and my honestly, my stand out match for the whole entire weekend was there was a uh there was a six man tag team well six man ladder match oh for the uh intercontinental championships with penta retained on that I love penta I've been watching him since he was in triple A and on the indies and it it's like Rey Mysterio but taller.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_06

And six one yeah I love me some Ray Ray.

SPEAKER_01

I still think he should have always kept the mask on should have never took it off.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah he did that a little bit in WCW back in the day.

SPEAKER_01

At one point WCW was better.

SPEAKER_06

Uh during the Monday Night Wars before the Attitude era and fucking it was the NWO the Wolf Pack. Oh man I loved it so much fun. But then again you don't know oh the New Age Outlaws which I think Billy Gunn is still the only one out of the two that's wrestling.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah but I think he's 150 years old now too he's got to look 40s or 50s he looks like he's in shape looks great he's been an AEW for quite a while but yeah the wolf pack was and then you had Hollywood Hogan and oh yeah it was it was it was when he was letting the the black of his beard grow out and stuff it was those were those were those were good memories for me. I loved wrestling back then well uh I guess that's all for episode two attack of the sports guys we touched on you know the major sports that we talk about uh unfortunately I've never been a hockey guy so that's probably not gonna make it in here no I don't understand it um there was a time when I got into soccer when my son was playing but don't understand that either uh I I did but I since he quit playing I quit watching so there's that but uh thanks for listening uh again bearded and crunchy on all socials uh you can find us on all uh major and some of the smaller uh podcast platforms we're on uh iHeartmusic we're on Spotify uh we are on Apple we are on Buzz Sprout and we're on listen notes I mean the list goes on and on and um we are also on YouTube with audio only files currently right now but there's a much bigger process to try to get your podcast on YouTube and the more I read on it it's not really that type of platform so for now we're just gonna upload the audio and and and and throw some some some nice picks to go along with it for your your entertainment pleasure.
